Snippets: Brechtian war

Brecht wrote this in “From a German War Primer”:

THOSE WHO TAKE THE MEAT FROM THE TABLE
Teach contentment.
Those from whom the contributions are destined
Demand sacrifice.
Those who eat their fill speak to the hungry
Of wonderful days to come.
Those who lead the country into the abyss
Call ruling too difficult
For ordinary men.

I translated those famous lines into Bengali:

Table theke jara mangsho tule khai,
Tarai shekhai tripto hoyar montro-
Bhog-bilash jara na chaitei pai,
Tarai bole tyag koro, tyag ofuronto.
Pet-ti jader bhora, khudartho-ke tarai bole,
Aasche dekho darun, darun, darun din-
Pathiye desh jahannome tarai abar berai bole,
Itar manush, desh chalano boroi kothin.
